June 29 – July 11

Who Can Attend?

This Reentry seminar is for missionary kids (MKs) who have just completed High School and are returning to the United States and Canada.

When and Where?

A thirteen day Reentry Seminar is offered each summer.

The seminar is held on a university campus or conference facility which has modern air conditioned dormitories, dining room, and complete athletic facilities for swimming, soccer, tennis, and other sports.

For nearly 30 years the Narramore Christian Foundation, a Christian counseling ministry, has offered this MK seminar. Since 1997 NCF and Barnabas International have co-sponsored these seminars under the leadership of Perry Bradford.

Objectives?

This FUN-FILLED seminar has some very practical objectives:

Orientation: We'll talk about American culture—the good and the bad, college life, friendships and dating, finances, and social customs. There will be several off-campus social and recreational outings, such as professional athletic events, the beach, and an amusement park.

Assessment: Personality tests will help to assess your personal adjustment and identify growing edges.

Adjustment: Christian educators and counselors, with a heart for missions and a love for teenagers, will encourage and guide you in addressing areas for personal, social, and spiritual growth.

Challenge: Daily chapel, evening dorm meetings, and informal chats with staff and fellow MKs will challenge you to trust God more fully and give new insights towards effective Christian living.

Lots of Fun and Relaxation

We guarantee you'll have a lot of fun, but this is not a camp. A seminar is a "meeting for the purpose of serious discussion and interchange of views." While mornings are spent in the classroom, there is also time to enjoy sports, recreational group activities, table games, or just sitting around talking or singing.

What MKs Have Said

"It is the most awesome experience you'll ever have! You learn how to relate to others, understand yourself, and look forward to the future." C MK from Ecuador

"This is something you will never regret. You will come away with a sense of encouragement and hope regarding living in the U.S." C MK From Mongolia

Cost and Registration

A $275 non-refundable registration fee is the only expense charged to each participant. The remainder of the seminar expenses for each MK who is accepted is covered in the form of an $900 scholarship given by the Narramore Christian Foundation. All participants must plan to attend the entire seminar and are expected to cooperate with the planned program.

Register as soon as possible since the seminar is limited to 48 MKs.
